Looks strange not wearing red, doesn't he? The first admission that the Flames' season and general direction is not upward-bound has resulted in the face of the organisation being traded to the Pittsburgh Penguins for a couple of minor prospects and Pittsburgh's first round draft pick this summer. Others are undoubtedly going to follow in the days ahead of Wednesday's trade deadline, as those in the playoff places acquire further players to solidfy their position and improve their lineup in a bid to win the Stanley Cup. He turns 36 on Canada Day, and isn't the player he was; he's probably needed a change of scenery for a couple of years now. Pittsburgh probably just gained hundreds of thousands of new supporters in these parts, hoping that number 12 can finally win a cup in the twilight of his career after coming so very close in 2004.
That he chose Pittsburgh over Boston is only natural. Who wouldn't want Crosby or Malkin as their centre after sixteen seasons of having to do it pretty much all himself?
